As we go around to invite people to join the Light of Peace 2014 event many questions were raised. Some were as easy as those just asking for the venue or the date but there were also those who would like to get to know more than that. They wanted to find out what exactly motivated the main organizers as well as their partners to hold such a grand event.
Last year, the Lantern for Peace was successfully held and more than 15,000 took part in the event that has permanently made its mark in the Guinness Book of World Records. That was last May 24th. This year will be another attempt but this will be an even bigger event. The Light of Peace 2014 will try to bring in a hundred thousand people to in an attempt to have the Largest Flaming Image Using Candlelight. This will be on April 14 in Savannah City, Oton, Iloilo. On that day, people from all over the City and Province of Iloilo and beyond are expected to take part in a historic event that will again put Iloilo in the limelight.
The Light of Peace 2014 though is not just a means to get to set a world record. It actually has an even deeper meaning. It is not just an opportunity for thousands of people to gather but it is a gathering of those who would like to tell the world that peace is possible. In order to attain it, each one should have inner peace. They can start by being at peace with themselves and this would radiate to the family, to the community, to the country and then to the whole world.
